Playoff Basketball: Celtics v Bulls

The Celtics lost game 1 to the Bulls....that's what matters.....we don't care what the score was.

All We Need To Know About The NBA

Kevin Garnett seems like a genuinely good guy in addition to being a hard nosed competitor so in that sense it's disappointing to see that he may have to miss the playoffs.

Boston Celtic's Kevin Garnett could miss post season
[Si.com]

However his injury does provide this blog, and the world, with some ancillary benefits:

-Of primary importance: Boston fans in misery....going on and on how they don't care anyway because the "Sawks" are playin' anyways. Front runners...

-Increased odds of getting a Kobe V. LeBron NBA Final.....we don't care too much about the NBA but we'd tune in to that series.

-Lastly but by no means least: Celtic girl photos to accompany frivolous story about professional league we just don't care too much about...Enjoy!

"Beat LA" Chants Fall On Deaf Ears

Like Christmas Day all over again.

Lakers 110
Celtics 109
~Los Angeles Times Article
~Boston Globe Article
~Additional Musings....of an A-Hole

We've said it before. We'll say it again. LA is really far away from SD and we're not the biggest of NBA fans but that didn't stop us from watching four minutes of the second half and then checking the scores this morning (Baby Steps.....).

Boston hates losing to LA, therefore we like Kobe and LA. If we can get an NBA Finals showdown we might be able to work our viewing threshold up to a full 48 minutes. If the match up occurs we'll also have an increased opportunity to use these......

Dear Patriot Tears #31

"Oh well if Jabar catches that ball in Indy, different story."

Posted by mike December 28, 08 07:53 PM

Dear Patriot Tears,

Speaking of different stories...if that 8-8 team out of San Diego doesn't crush you 30-10 then you really have no problem making it to the playoffs.

Also if Jabar Gafney doesn't make that great catch last season to beat the Ravens then you wouldn't have finished the 2007 regular season 16-0.....of course a loss may have taken the pressure off of your team and the Super Bowl may have had a different outcome....so Gafney has fucked you in consecutive seasons? Nice...

Dear Patriot Tears #26

"Hell of a year ,thanks for the memories Great Job Men ! Hey you cant be that bummed out look at the big picture. the greatest sports city around bar nun ! GO BRUINS, CELTICS !!!!!!!"

Posted by m.mc. December 28, 08 07:47 PM

Dear Patriot Tears,

Yer the greatest city, blah, blah, blah.

FYI-When you posted this tear back on 12/28 the Celtics were coming off of a Christmas Day loss to the Los Angeles Lakers...we believe it was only the Celtics third loss of the year. How many losses do you have today (and were you following the Celts before the 2008 revival?)?

The Bruins haven't done a thing in years......but here they are in 1st place......and Boston's following them again.

You are a GREAT baseball city but bandwagon for the rest of the sports!

Do the Bruins have a dance squad?

Dear Patriot Tears #23

"Yeah, I'd much rather watch 8-8 Arizona or 8-8 San Diego than the Pats, whose brilliant coach once again showed why he is light years ahead of every one of his peers, by punting on third down and calling timeouts in the first quarter, with the wind at his back. Think any other pro coach would have gotten 11 wins if his MVP QB went down in Week 1? Not Dungy, not Tomlin, not any of them. Belichick is the greatest coach of all time, and I'm proud to be a Pats fan because of him."

Dear Patriot Tears,

The Chargers blew the Patriots out so stop the comparisons. Belichick is a genius....he seems most capable at Positioning his team and himself perfectly at every turn.....plus he's been on Jeopardy...only Deities make it there.

Dear Patriot Tears #16

"Teams like the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons throw the season so they can get a better draft pick. The Pats organization is build on winning; hence why even in a down year they win 11 games. Remarkable really. NE will pick #19 or #20 in the 09 draft, which should give the team an oppertunity to pick up a stud. Bill Belichick and the rest of the organization did a fantastic job this season, especially considering every expert wrote off the team after what happened in week 1."

Dear Patriot Tears,

Your team is so noble.......they actually TRIED after a player was injured......amazing concept! Perhaps they should be rewarded with a higher draft pick!

You're an idiot! The Raiders don't throw games! They are actually that bad! Get it straight!.....and proof your posts, nard!

We hate to use a Celtic Girl on back to back days but we received so many comments yesterday that we decided to go back to the well. Enjoy!

Dear Patriot Tears #15

"It all goes back to the loss to the dolphins at Foxboro. After that loss, this team did not deserve to be in the playoffs no matter what they accomplished! Back then, they had no excuse as they had most of the starters so that game cost them the season!"

Dear Patriot Tears,

It's difficult to tell whether or not this is the comment of a troll or simply a Patriot fan who is using the power of objectivity. In either case we will agree that the following assessment is very astute: the Dolphin loss at home prior to the flurry of injuries the Patriots sustained in '08 was completely unacceptable!

Due to the uncertainty of the above "Tear", we believe you should go about enjoying the fine young lady to the left...she is a member of the Boston Celtics dance squad....nearly half of which hails from the Golden State....Cali-FOR-NI-A.
